Kihei High School “Water Feature”

About the Project
In early 2022, we began working with Nordic PCL Construction, based out of Honolulu, HI, on the Kihei High School “Water Feature”. This project presented several design challenges, allowing for a rather unique manufacturing process.
Scope of Work
Using our experience with high re-use urethane formliner, CNC Milling, and Expanded Polystyrene Foam we were able to provide a lightweight, highly customized solution.
The water feature shown is 27’4” (H) x 13’ (W) with varying water channels having max relief of 10”. These surfaces also required a hammered concrete surface finish achieved with our #162C Formliner.
While working with Nordic PCL on the concept, we took advantage of our 5-axis machining capabilities, introducing the flower details.
