About the Project
In observance of the 20th anniversary of September 11, Adams County, CO constructed a Veterans Memorial on the shore of Mann-Nyholt Lake at Riverdale Regional Park.
The completed memorial is a life-sized model of the USS Colorado battleship jutting into the lake.
Scope of Work
Scott System was honored to produce formliners for the story wall featuring beautiful scenes and inspiring stories.
We utilized photo engraving methods to create custom urethane formliners with chiseled impressions transferring the image to concrete.
Our CNC machines milled a greyscale image into our mold at different depths to transfer actual images onto our formwork.
The three separate urethane formliners spanned 34’ in length x 7’ in height and were bent around a 62’ radius. The image comes to life through different shades of light and shadows on the façade.
This unique design manufacturing method can be used to take an image and produce cast-in-place or prefabricated concrete artwork.
